The Hermann Athletic Center offers one of the best home court advantages in the USA South Conference. With fans and fellow students just feet from the court, the 600-person gymnasium provides an intimate and exciting atmosphere for the volleyball and men’s and women’s basketball teams.
Built in 1963, the Hermann Center is a staple on the downtown Raleigh campus and reflects the tradition and commitment to progress at WPU. The gymnasium has undergone renovations twice in the past decade, with the last upgrade improving men and women’s locker rooms in the summer of 2012. The facility also features a newly redesigned floor and dynamic center court logo.
In addition to basketball and volleyball facilities, the Hermann Center also houses an auxiliary gym, intramural space, fitness and weight room facilities, and the athletic training room.
Hermann Athletic Center is located off of Halifax Street behind the Main Building. There is parking available directly behind the gym in a visitor lot. Visitors are asked to enter the parking lot from North Blount Street and exit via Halifax Street.
